If my uniform in the summer is a maxi dress, then in the winter it’s leggings. I seriously spend more time than I care to admit searching for the perfect pair of leggings and shirts long enough to cover my butt.
For the record, my favorite leggings are these from BCBG and these from LNA. And Victoria’s Secret has the best selection of long shirts that are great for layering in the winter!
Someone sent me this picture from Pinterest and I immediately loved it! I think it combines everything we’re looking for in an everyday, running-around-doing-errands, look.. comfort and cute being the top two on my list. And to be honest, cute has been falling behind for quite some time now. So, let’s hold each other accountable for at least LOOKING like we put some effort into our outfits. Friends don’t let friends who have no plans of working out wear yoga pants everyday, right?

I know it’s expensive and I try to give different options when I can. These are my favorite because they are super thick, unlike other leggings that become thin once I wash them.

Oh no! I love it, but some of the options you have were real fur :/ Have you been able to find some nice faux leather boots that aren’t practically disposable? I love a ton that I find, but they fall apart within a few months due to the synthetic leather. Have you found a durable pair, or do you normally just have to go for the authentic ones?

First, Emily you have great taste and I love your suggestions. Second, you are too sweet to respond to these ridiculous posts. Ladies, stop complaining about the prices. One piece of advice- quality over quantity…. You get what you pay for, and having higher quality pieces in wardrobe means you spend less in the long run. It pays to spend more money on staple pieces. The web links are suggestions. If you are tight on cash, shop at Forever21.

Emily is sensible, she probably only buys expensive pieces if they’re good quality and will last forever. Which will save her money in the long run! Honestly, Target and Khols have awesome leggings at decent prices, Lauren Conrad’s line (at Khols) has soooo many cute pieces that are inexpensive!

Love everything about this outfit! Looks good for a night around the firepit. I am officially on the search to recreate it. I love my Minnetonka Mocc’s but they are the brown ones. They’d work with this outfit though, I think.

I agree. Stop complaining about prices. What I do is look at the outfits and try to recreate at affordable stores. Similar outfits but much cheaper. Though, hers still are much nicer, they still give me a chance to change up my usual wardrobe.

To anyone who complains about prices, I always use the ‘times per wear formula’. Sure, BCBG leggings may be costly, but you must factor in how much more wear and tear they will endure and the longer life that piece will have. You do get what you pay for in most cases.
I also come from a family who hunts and to anyone criticizing someone for wearing leather or fur, it really isn’t your place to judge. If you’re against it, don’t wear it. Simple.

Wow. I love that she posts the expensive, high quality pieces that I know will last. I wouldn’t bother with her blog otherwise. Some of us can afford it and it would be misleading for her to promote cheap, flimsy stuff, but only wear the expensive, high quality pieces herself. Also, you can use her style as a guide and find cheaper alternatives at the big retailers.

Zella by Nordstrom leggings are AMAZING! they are called Live in Leggings I believe. & They are reversible! I have three pairs! completely non-see through, and super stretchy& comfortable! best part is you can flip them inside out& get twice the wear! they also are water resistant!
