Acouple of weeks ago I was asked to attend the 12th Annual Golf Tournament benefitting A Better World Charlotte and before even thinking about it, I said, "Of course!" Anyone who knows me will tell you children are my absolute passion and I'd give the shirt of my back if it would help. But speaking of my shirt, my next thought was, "What am I supposed to wear to a golf course if I'm not golfing?"
Goodness knows it would be a cold day in hell before I showed up wearing Bermuda shorts and a visor, so I had to put my own spin on "golf course appropriate." Even though I wore it to a tournament, this time of year this outfit would be perfect for a lot of different occasions. Just dress it up with some heels or dress it dow with some flats! But back to what was obviously the MOST important part of the day, supporting A Better World Charlotte, a wonderful program that is changing the lives of so many children in our community. We have to watch out for our children at all times. Just yesterday, three now young ladies escaped from their captors of 10 years here in Ohio. Two were about 14 and the other about 22 when they went missing. One of the younger ones had a child by one of the captors. Three brothers in their early 50's are in custody now. The good news is the girls were found alive and apparently in good health. What a challenge it must have been for the families. I like your involvement here - without supervised after school programs, our children are susceptible. permalink
