    Nude Beach

This title is a bit misleading, so I apologize to any of you who came here today expecting to hear about some crazy summer vacation I went on. It's actually about my favorite eyeshadow called "Nude Beach" from Bare Minerals which can be just as exciting. Ok, thats a stretch.. but it is really pretty!

Every time I do my eye makeup I start with this shadow as the base because it gives you sparkle without being glittery, if that makes any sense. During the day when I want a more natural look I'll wear this by itself and still get a beautiful sandy sparkle that brightens up my whole face. If you're looking for just a pop of color, you can wet your brush and apply a little to the inner corners. I suggest you use a primer, like Benefit Stay Don't Stray because it's a loose powder. Unlike many other eyeshadows I've tried, this one will last you all day!

What's your favorite eye shadow I need to try? Leave it in the comments!

    • I LOVE this color but I find it a little messy with the loose pigments! Beautiful colour tho!

    • I love nude beach!! I was a makeup artist for Bare Escentuals and that was my go to eye shadow!! If you love the look of nude beach try celestine by Bare Escentuals! Its gorgeous!!

    • I love this color. A trick I use to make sure the powder doesn't get on my face: take a tissue, fold it half, and place it right under your bottom eyelashes. When you brush the shadow on, any loose powder will fall on the tissue instead!

    • LOVE this color. i love natural eyes for day to day and bare minerals is amazing!

    • I love MAC patina, it's the perfect sandy gold color, that's not too warm or too cool. I like wearing it with either MAC satin taupe in the crease or MAC mulch. So pretty!

    • Ooo! Thanks for the recommendation Emily! Have a wonderful week! : )

    • You should try the Naked 2 pallet! It's my absolute fav. Nothing beats it!

    • Thank you for writing about this shadow! You have amazing taste in makeup :)

    • If your looking for another natural shimmery shade, Kitten by Stila is amazing!!! Its like a light cream shimmer with almost no fallout. You should for sure check it out! Its my favorite eyeshadow of all time. :)

    • Awesome suggestion! Its even cheaper on Amazon:

    • Bareminerals hottie and firefly for the perfect bronze smokey eye!!

    • That shadow is such a pretty color. I love all of the Urban Decay and MAC shadows!

    • I get tons of compliments when i wear YDK shadow(shimmery pinkish hue) from Urban Decay. Its in the Naked 2 palette. If you don't have either Naked palettes, I highly recommend them!!

    • Would you put this shade all over the eye, up to the eyebrow or just on eyelid? Thanks!! Can't wait to buy!!

    • Benefit's high beam is great. I also use Bobbi Brown's Bone Shimmer every day.

    • I love this color! This was my first bare minerals eyeshadow. I really love another one by them called 'vanilla sugar'. It's a very subtle shimmer peach shade that is really pretty for a no makeup makeup look. Stila 'Kitten' is also a favorite, and Mac's 'Naked Lunch'.

    • If you love the nude beach shade, try Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells trio. The quality is amazing, on par with high end brands like UD, and dirt cheap! Very pigmented and last all day - I highly recommend giving them a go!

    • I put "sell out" by urban decay on my whole lid then put bare minerals "warm" in my crease. Sell out has a little sparkle to it and because I use bare minerals foundation I find it really helpful to use the "warm" in different areas.

      Love you Emily!

    • I love Arbonne's vegan mineral infused eye shadow! Specifically Sand Dune in the Classic Hamptons Palette! ❤

    • I am going to have to try this out! I love to have just a neutral pop of color in the lids. thanks!

    • I love bare minerals! Thanks for the great post, Emily! If anyone is interested more beauty/makeup reviews make sure to check out my blog!

    • I absolutely love this one! This color was my recent discovery this summer. My other go-to color is "Queen Phyllis". It's a gold-toned shimmery color from bare minerals. Love!

    • Hey Emily!

I love warm tones, so one of my favorite shadows is by Laura Mercier and it's called "Baroque". Also look into "Bare Skin" by Bare Minerals....I think you will LOVE it. Same effect as Nude Beach but a little more flesh toned. Xoxox

    • I always wear queen Phyllis by bare minerals! It's shimmery like this one too! Perfect as a base! I love this one as well! Need to try it out! Thanks for sharing your tips! You're beautiful!

    • Another great similar color is also called "Nude" found in the Lorac Pro Palette! Paired with their "Pewter" is a great everyday combo. Loooove the makeup posts, keep them coming!!

    • I love all Bare Minerals products. Will definitely have to purchase this one. I love just a hint of shimmer so this would be perfect!

    • Love Kitten by Stila. Its a golden shimmery beachy broazed gorgeous look! A must have in my book. <3

    • I would recommend Urban Decay Naked Basics and Moondust eyeshadow! Let me know if you have not tried them yet--I work for UD corporate and could send you samples!

I agree with others about Kitten by Stila. It really brightens and opens up your eyes. You can apply it as a highlight under the brows and on the inner eye corners.

    • Stila's kitten...Best. eyeshadow. ever.
Just go swatch it. you'll be in love. :)

It is actually one of my favorits too! However, I recently discovered KITTEN by Stila, and I must say, I hated it at first, but now when I use it in combination with other colors, I just LOVE it! :)

I am also crazy about my new Smashbox palette from light to dark or something where I mostly have purples. The pigmentation is INSANE! :)

    • Try Queen Phyllis from Bare Minerals! Its the perfect base. I like to match it with Tiger's Eye which is technically a liner, but i use it for a smokey eyeshadow. It's perfect!

    • My favorite every day color from Bare Minerals is Queen Phyllis. It is a perfect base and I love to match it with Firefly and Tiger's Eye in the crease. Tiger's Eye is technically a liner, but it is my absolute favorite for a smokey eye.

I would recommend you try Stila Kitten eyeshadow, the NARS duo in Kalahari and MAC satin taupe! All beautiful shades!

    • I love BE Queen Phyllis too. Thanks for all the recommended products from you as well as others. I'm a makeup junkie too. Naked Pallet 2 is high on "my want" list.

I would recommend any MAC shadows. They last for like a year! They are heavily pigmented also. I have very sensitive eyes and wear contacts, so my eyes water easily and are very senstive. To me, they are the best. I also use a MAC Paint Pot in "Painterly" to start, which makes my shadow stay on all day and it never creases.
