One of my favorite things about the summer is getting to go to outdoor concerts and based on a lot of the "Ask Emily" submissions I've gotten lately, many of you have filled your calendar up with them, too! So, in honor of Kenny Chesney coming to Charlotte tonight, I figured it would be fitting to do a "What I Wore: Country Concert Edition" post.
First Rule: No wearing a concert tshirt from the concert you're attending unless you're under the age of 12. Everyone knows you like them or else you wouldn't be there, right? If you must buy one, cut off the sleeves, and wear it with some cut-offs on another day.
Second Rule: Wear comfortable shoes! God knows I've been "that girl" that wears heels way too high for her own good and ends up crying in pain by the end of the night. I've been there and trust me, it's no fun so wear something cute and comfy!
But at the end of the day, there really are no real rules, so wear whatever makes you feel good because chances are it'll be dark and a lot of the people there will have been "over-served" for far too long to even notice your outfit.

My tip is that concerts are a great place to start trends so if you're feeling bold and have your own trend idea, try setting it at a show and see if it takes off! permalink

HI Emily! I am a huge Bon Jovi fan. Been for 27 years now. I just love them so much. Naturally I´ve been in their many concerts too. Here in Finland where I live. Previous was in may in Tampere Finland. I wore their Fan club shirt... Oops.. perhaps I shouldn´t have!!! =) I just wanted to scream that I am a fan to the whole world. :) I had comfotable shoes on because I had to stand for 7 hours.. In heels it would have been impossible. OMG, can´t even imagine doing that! Next time I wanna wore something more feminine and unique. But with a text Bon Jovi of course. :)

#1 tip and I had to learn this the hard way: Wear some comfortable shoes! I was on my feet for several hours and all I wanted was my comfy slippers ASAP. Boots are the best bet... you can prevent beer soaked feet.
Love the advice to forgo wearing the concert tee at the show. I never really realized how foolish it looks. permalink

What size do you wear in the Southern Belle tank? The website says that it runs a tad larger and I usually wear a small so I'm not sure if I should order that or the XS?

I recommend boots because they are comfy and keep your feet clean! (no one likes concert/fair feet) I also like to wear bright colors because it makes it easier to spot my friends and they can spot me. Wear a small purse and leave all valuables in a safe place! permalink
